I brought my healthy one year old malitpoo, weighing 15 lbs, in to Santa Clarita Animal Hospital to get spayed and they charged me $702.00.First the receptionist told me an additional charge of $50 would be billed due to my dog being in heat, but instead they changed it to $90 without informing me.
I asked why this was charge was raised and they said it was due to the amount of time it took for the spay. The kicker is my dog had yet to go into surgery before they placed it on the bill. I'm curious how it could take the maximum amount of time already when she has yet to go under. I asked the front desk for a pricing guide, something they base their estimates off of, and they informed me they had none.
I then asked where they come up with their numbers and she informed me that the owner decides. Ok, but where is the price range documentation that he refers to that back up his calculations? They have none.
I am extremely angry with the disservice myself and my wallet had to endure. This clinic needs to change their unethical practices and provide pricing guides for their customers.
